Friday we all had the opportunity to spend time at the school. The teachers were very impressed by the politeness of the students and their level of French. :)
Raquel and Alex were each in an English class that I also spoke in - they helped answer questions about our country, schools, and life in the US. I saw several students at the between-class breaks they call 'recreation'. All reports that I got from the students were positive - they were all smiling and happy to have gotten some sleep! Several of us ate in their school cafeteria, which is a bit different from ours. We were offered a main course of fish, beans and broccoli, a soup or salad, a cheese choice, a dessert, and a crusty piece of baguette. Delicious! The school is generously offering lunches to our group for free on the days we are at school. We are on our own this weekend with our respective hosts, and will meet on Monday morning for our first excursion to the center of Paris via the train and metro system. Bon week-end!
